On the visit, I'll look at:
- Which rooms feel cold, and when
- How the walls are built, and their condition
- Signs of damp, leaks and condensation
- Ventilation in kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms
- Window reveals, the bay and other cold spots
- What you want the room to feel like afterwards

- A few photos of the problem (WhatsApp is perfect)
- Roughly when the house was built, if you know
- Anything you have already tried, such as anti-mould paint or a dehumidifier
- Your EPC, if you have one to hand

Is the home visit really free?
Yes. I come and look at the room, check the walls, damp and ventilation, and talk you through what I find. There is no charge and no obligation, and you get a written quotation afterwards.
How long does the visit take?
Usually 45 minutes to an hour, depending on how many rooms you want me to look at. I take measurements and a few photos, and answer any questions while I am there.
Will I be pressured to book?
No. I would rather you understood what is going on with your walls and made the right decision in your own time. If you do not need me, I will tell you.
Can I send photos first?
Yes, please do. A few photos of the cold wall, the bay or the mould on WhatsApp help me prepare, and sometimes I can tell you straight away whether a visit is worth it.
Do you cover my area?
I am based in Walsall and work within about an hour: Sutton Coldfield, Great Barr, Aldridge, Solihull, Lichfield, Cannock, Wolverhampton and Birmingham.
How quickly will you reply?
Usually the same day. If I am on a job I reply in the evening. If it is urgent, ring me.
