Warmer, drier, better-finished walls.
I insulate cold walls and bay windows, fix condensation and black mould at the cause, and plaster to a finish that is ready to decorate. Every job starts with a free home visit, so the recommendation fits your house, not a price list.

What services does aPlastering offer?
aPlastering, run by Wojtek Pankowski in Walsall, offers internal wall insulation, bay window insulation, condensation and black mould solutions, spray cork coatings, lime plastering, general plastering and skimming, and wall soundproofing. Work covers Sutton Coldfield, Great Barr, Aldridge, Walsall and nearby areas, and always starts with a free home visit.
Is your home cold even with the heating on?
Then insulation is usually where to start. Most cold rooms I see are in solid brick homes and 1930s semis, where heat walks straight out through uninsulated walls and thin bay panels. Warmer walls also mean a room that heats up faster and stays comfortable after the heating goes off.
- Internal wall insulation: breathable (wood fibre, cork, lime) or PIR systems, chosen after moisture modelling. From about £2,000 per wall.
- Bay window insulation: the cold timber panel, walls, reveals and, where needed, the bay ceiling, insulated as one. From about £1,700 per bay, 3–5 days.
See how it works in practice in my 1930s bedroom case study.

Does black mould keep coming back?
Then the cause has not been fixed yet. Mould returns when moist air keeps meeting a cold wall, so the answer is warmer surfaces and ventilation that works, after any leaks are ruled out.
- Condensation and black mould solutions: diagnosis, insulation and ventilation organised with trusted trades. Priced after a free home visit.
What can spray cork be used for?
Spray cork is a flexible, breathable coating made from natural cork. I am a SprayCork UK approved applicator, and I have used cork plaster inside homes. Each use is priced after a free home visit.
- Spray cork overview: what it is and where it suits.
- Internal cork coating: a thin, warm finish for cold or condensation-prone walls.
- External cork render: a flexible, breathable finish for outside walls.
- Cork roof coating: a protective coating for suitable roofs.
- Asbestos encapsulation: sealing suitable asbestos cement surfaces where encapsulation is the right approach.

Do your walls or ceilings need plastering?
Plastering is where I started, and the same care goes into it. Every room is left clean, smooth and ready to decorate, and the price follows a free visit.
- Lime plastering: breathable plaster for period homes and insulation systems.
- Plastering: walls and ceilings, new and old.
- Skimming: a fresh, smooth finish over sound plaster.
- Plaster repairs and patching: cracks, holes and blown plaster.
- Plastering over Artex: smooth ceilings without the textured look.
- Plasterboarding: new walls, ceilings and linings.

Can you hear everything through the wall?
Wall soundproofing adds mass, isolation and sealing to a shared wall to cut noise from next door. It is a significant investment: across the industry, most domestic soundproofing projects fall roughly between £5,000 and £20,000. I will look at the wall, explain what is realistic and give you a clear quote.
What happens on every job?
The same careful process, whatever the service. You deal with me from the first phone call to the follow-up, and if the job needs an electrician, plumber or joiner, I organise them so the work happens in the right order. It starts with a free home visit where I listen, inspect and, for insulation, run moisture modelling. You get a written quote, public liability insurance details, a pre-start guide and the guarantee terms. We protect floors and furniture, tidy every day and hand the room back ready to decorate, and I call about four weeks later. Read more on how it works.

Get a free quoteWhich service do I need for a cold room?
Usually internal wall insulation, or bay window insulation if the cold is concentrated in a bay. The right answer depends on your walls, which is why I start with a free home visit. I will check the construction, look for damp and explain what will make the biggest difference.
Do you offer free quotes?
Yes. Every job starts with a free home visit, where I listen to what is wrong and inspect the walls. After that you get a clear written quote with the work, the system and the price set out, so you can decide without any pressure.
Do you decorate after plastering or insulating?
No. I hand rooms back plastered and ready to decorate, and I can recommend suitable paints, especially for breathable lime finishes. If you want the whole project managed, I can organise the electrician, plumber, joiner and waste removal, so you deal with one person.
Which areas do you cover?
I am based in Walsall and work across Sutton Coldfield, Great Barr, Aldridge, Lichfield, Cannock, Wolverhampton, Solihull and Birmingham, generally within about an hour to an hour and a half. If you are unsure whether you are in range, ring 07763 789272 and ask. I am happy to tell you straight away.
Are you insured and qualified?
Yes. I am a qualified Retrofit Assessor and Domestic Energy Assessor, a SprayCork UK approved applicator, and trained in lime plastering and thermal upgrading. I hold public liability insurance, and the details come with every written quote, along with the guarantee terms for your job.
